Call for Entries: Indiana Emerging Glass Artists 2012
This is a competitive juried exhibition showcasing the best of Indiana’s emerging glass artists.
This limited exhibition in a centrally located public venue encourages the appreciation of glass as a contemporary art form.

Exhibition Dates:
Exhibition will be installed on Oct. 3, 2012. Opening reception & awards presentation
is on Oct. 5th. Exhibition open to the public, Oct. 5th until Oct. 26th, 2012.
Venue:
Indianapolis Artsgarden, 110 West Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana. Curving
95 feet into the air, this spectacular facility, owned and operated by the Arts Council
of Indianapolis, is an architectural marvel as well as an arts and cultural venue. Open
to the general public, it boasts an average of 10,000 visitors a month.
Awards:
Artists compete for $200 in cash awards. Best in Show additionally awarded an
at the ArtSplash Gallery located in Carmel, IN.
Jurors:
ROBERT SHADE, Robert Shade is the owner of ArtSplash Gallery, located in the
America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
MATT KENYON, Kenyon received his BFA in Furniture Design from Herron School
of Art in 2008. He has actively been blowing glass at the Art Center for since 1998.
He is an instructor at the Indianapolis Art Center as well as the head of the glass studio.
He enjoys incorporating mixed media into his work including glass, metal, wood, rope
and bead work. Matt has taught at the Art Center for over 5 years.
Eligibility:
The juried exhibition is open to any artist who is 18 years old and has an Indiana
All work must be original produced by the submitting artist and completed in the past two years. All
use glass as its main medium. If artwork is mixed media then 50% or include glass. (The IGAA reserves the right to reject work that is deemed
Fee:
A $20 non-refundable entry fee is required to submit entries.
Rules of Entry:
1. Fee: A $20 non-refundable entry fee entitles the artist to submit up to three works of
art. Check or money order should be made payable to Indiana Glass Arts Alliance and
included with the entry form. 2. Artwork Limitations: The size of artwork must not exceed approximately 46”wide by 72” tall. Weight cannot exceed 75lbs.
3. Digital Images on CD: There is a limit of three entries per artist. For each entry, up
to three images showing different views may be submitted. One image must be a full
view of the artwork. If desired, two additional images of the artwork may be submitted
showing different and/or detailed views. No slides will be accepted. CDs will not be
returned. Please clearly label CD with the following information (please print):
Your Name, Phone Number & Email.
Digital Image Formatting:
IGAA encourages artists to utilize professional photographers to document their artwork. Using
professionals helps to ensure that your work is presented in the best way possible with proper
lighting, image composition, and resolution of the digital images.
Recommended dimensions and format:
Image Area: 1400 pixels wide X 1400 pixels high. Please size image to fill
either width or height.
File Format: Save all images as Baseline Standard JPEG. (Do not save as a
Progressive JPEG.)
Color space: Save images in RGB color space not CMYK.
Digital images of artwork submitted must be a non-altered representation of the actual
works to be considered for exhibition. IGAA reserves the right to decline artwork if it
does not closely resemble original digital image(s) submitted to the jurors.
Digital File Naming:
Up to 3 images per artwork may be submitted. Name the digital file(s) as follows:
Last name_First initial_Title_number.jpg
example: Smith_D_SelfPortrait_1.jpg

4. Artwork Acceptance: Only artists with accepted artwork will be notified by email
on or after Friday, Sept 28th. If you do not have an email address, please include a
SASE with entry form and we will notify you by mail. Detailed information regarding
shipping or hand-delivering artwork along with an invitation to the Opening Reception
will also be emailed by Sept 28th. Awards will be announced and presented at the
Opening Reception. After acceptance, no artwork substitutions are allowed. No
accepted artwork may be withdrawn prior to the close of the exhibition.
5. Sales: All artwork will be available for purchase unless designated “not for sale”
(NFS) in the entry form. Price of artwork may not be changed after it has been entered.
The Artsgarden will process transactions and subtract a 35% commission fee.
Purchased artwork must remain in the show until Oct 26th. Artwork created for the
Best in Show exhibition at ArtSplash Gallery must be for sale. ArtSplash Gallery
will process transactions subtracting a 50% commission on all sales and deliver
artwork(s) to purchaser.
6. Agreement: The Indiana Glass Arts Alliance (IGAA) will use reasonable good faith
efforts to ensure that original artwork delivered for exhibition is not damaged or lost.
However, in no event with IGAA, their officers, directors, employees or volunteers, or
any other persons or entities organizing, installing, promoting, running or otherwise
providing any goods or services in connection with the exhibition, be liable for any loss
or damage to the artwork of any kind. Submission of an entry for the exhibition
constitutes acceptance of this limitation of liability and authorization for the IGAA to
use images of the artwork (including the images provided with the entry and images
taken by IGAA for others) and artist’s name and likeness in any and all media in
perpetuity for the purpose of promoting IGAA or any of its activities.

labeled CD, check or money order for $20 made payable to the Indiana Glass
Alliance and a SASE for acceptance notification if you do not have an email. All entries
must be postmarked by August 31, 2012. Entries will not be returned.
